⢠Short Information â¢
---------------------------------------------------
⢠Help: âHelpâ or âCmd-Hâ. Put in front or
send to back with âHelpâ.
⢠Symbols: Click on Symbol-palette or on the left
side of the window. Popup everywhere
with âCmd-Clickâ
⢠Macro: Choose from Macro-Menü when library
is loaded or popup everywhere with
âOpt-Clickâ.
⢠File: Load it from Finder or within program.
⢠Library file: Load it from Finder or within program.
Automatic loading with âPrefsâ¦â.
⢠Online-Help â¢
---------------------------------------------------
This window can be accessed with the help key or with
Cmd-H. You can send it to back or bring it to front with
the help key. Close this window with return or klick in
the close box. Scrolling can be done with the arrow keys
or with the mouse.
⢠Circuits â¢
---------------------------------------------------
After loading the program you can start typing in your
circuits. Because I am a german guy, my keyboard looks
a bit different than yours. So I have included an FKEY and
the appropriate KCHR-resource, so you can easily switch
between the german and the US keyboard layout from
within the program. All you have to do is: type
Shift-Cmd-9. I had to include this file because most of
the electric symbols can be accessed with the Opt-key.
These are the most often used symbols for all the circuit
connections. You have to type opt-1 to get the first one.
¡ â ¶¢ [ ]| { }± â â¦
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 + - 0
The vertical Symbols can be accessed through their
first character together with the Opt-key:
® ç ¬ â Ω â« â â ~Ï Æ
R C L D Z B I V N P F
The horizontal Symbols can be accessed through their
first character together with the shift-opt-key:
¸Ãï¬â¬Ëâ¹Ãà âºâÃ
R C L D Z B I V N P F
You can get all the electronic symbols everywhere on
the screen by pressing Cmd and clicking the mouse.
A window will pop up and let you choose any of them.
At the bottom of the Window you can see the keyboard
equivalent for the symbol character.
You can also access this window by clicking on
"Symbols" or by simply clicking inside the left part
of the screen under the symbol palette.
You also can click on the symbol palette on the left side
of the screen. When you click the mouse there another
window will pop up and you can choose your symbol
from a structured list of symbols.
You can edit you circuits the normal way. Only Undo
isn't active yet. I will implement it in the next update.
The Text menu can also popup everywhere on the screen,
if you press Shift-Opt and click the mouse.
You can copy the circuit to the clipboard if you want to
paste it into another program document. It does not
matter if this is a text editor or a graphic program.
Please notice that some of the symbols have zero width.
This is because you can combine these symbols with
others (resistance and arrow, or point and line). Please
look at the examples below:
^ ´ ⦠â â
These are some of the possible combinations of the zero
width-characters with others:
^û ´â â¦[ â ® âà â ±
⢠Macros & Libraries â¢
--------------------------------------------------
If you often use a special circuit or a part of a circuit
you can save it as a macro. Every macro belongs to a
macro-library. So you have this overall menu structure:
¡âââââ¶
±Library 1± Menu stucture
±Library 2¢ââââ¶
±Library 3±Macro 1±
|âââââ]Macro 2±
±Macro 3±
|ââââ}
- You can load a library file from the finder or from
within the program. If you want to change the library
file simply choose another with âload macro".
Sometimes the macros are not shown correctly.
Simply load them again and everything looks fine.
When you create a new macro inside the activ library
file, the menu will be updated automatically.
- Choose a macro from the hirarchical menu. It will be
instantly pasted into your document. You can also
press the Opt-key and click the mouse anywhere on
the screen to get a hierarchical poup menu with the
libraries and macros
- You can save any circuit file as a macro or as a text
file. So its possible to easily load it into any other
program. When you save it as a text file, the font and
size information also will be saved. So you can load it
again with the same font specifications. Please notice
that this is not a styled editor (I will implement this
feature in the next update. I developed this program
with the ZBasic⢠from ZEDCOR and I had to add this
styled features to the Basic-compiler. The update will
be generated with ZEDCOR's new Future Basicâ¢.)
under the menu item Prefs⦠you can specify library
files to be loaded automatically the next time you
start the program
⢠Insert/Override â¢
--------------------------------------------------
You can add text to your circuits with the same font you
"draw" the circuit because my Analo-font includes all
standard ascii characters. To prevent your circuit from
beeing changed while adding textual information you can
change to the Override Modus with Cmd-E. When you
type in your characters they simply override the spaces
and your circuit dosn't change. If you deleted a caracter
you can go back to Insert Modus and insert it again.
In override modus only the space and backspace will
work the normal way.
⢠Word wrap â¢
--------------------------------------------------
When you draw your circuits you can choose word wrap
to be on or off. At startup it's turned on.
⢠Print â¢
--------------------------------------------------
You only can print your circuit files from within the
program not from finder. But normally you would paste
the circuit into another layout document to get best
control over the printed pages. To get best results from
your printer you need to install the Analo postscriptâ¢
font together with the screen font in your system file.
⢠Colors â¢
--------------------------------------------------
You can change the gray value that underlies the symbol
palette and the symbol popups. Simply choose Colors from
the Extra menu and change it to whatever you like. If
you press OK, the choosen gray value will be saved in the
programs resources for the netxt times you start it.
⢠Final notice â¢
--------------------------------------------------
This is my first great program on the macintosh. I made
it because after I created my âAnaloâ postscript⢠font,
I wanted to be able to draw my electric circuits more
easily than with a normal text editor. Programs that draw
electonic circuits are normally very expensive and I don't
like those "CAD-symbols" they use. So I created my own
Analog font.
I hope this program will match your needs and you like the
special interface. Please send me notes if you have any
wishes or if you experienced any bugs. I will do my best
to update this program and give it more useful features.
I'm also working on a PC-Windows version, but it will take
some time to get this done. Please notice that this program
is freeware (till now), but all rights on the general idea
of the program and on the font belong to me.
May be that future versions will only be available as a
commercial program.
